When Thinking of Kitchen Storage Cabinets...

Thnking about designing kitchen storage cabinets is simple if you keep in mind some basic points:

Let's look at drawers

"cushioned closing systems" describe the way drawers glide slowly and silently to a close- even more so when heavily laden.

This gives a feel of quiet luxury to your kitchen storage cabinets.

Small drawers

For storing utensils just under or near the benchtop. Small drawers offer quick access, but it's essential to divide the drawers to organise utensils.

Larger drawers for pots and pans ... at bottom of benches, ideally on runners 450-600mm wide.

Island benches

See more about kitchen islands...they are superb and very diverse! If you have room, please consider having one made- it adds workspace.

It can also be the perfect spot for the sink, the cooker top, or you could make a split system for eating at as well as a 'hidden' space for preparing food.

Shelving

This is not often thought about very deeply, but it is an important kitchen storage design feature.

Shelving gives space with quick access and high visibility. If open, they can be places where germs and grime collect, but as display spaces, we feel they are the tops!

Place some beautiful crockery or artwork on a shelf above your kitchen hub, and see it attract the attention of visitors instantly.

Hooks and Racks

These can organise things in cupboards, on benches or hung on walls or doors. Just be aware that putting these items in your storage design is to add storage space and not to add clutter!

A wine rack below the bench on your island can be a nice looking feature as well as being practical.

Containers and jars

Although these take up bench space, the well chosen ones can add to the appeal of the kitchen while keeping food preserved. They should be co-ordinated with the style of the rest of your kitchen storage cabinets.

The most important thing is that YOU are happy with the effects and atmosphere you achieve through your efforts...

We'll help you do this and the effect will be magical...just trust yourself enough to experiment and "put-this-with-that".

Think outside the square when you have to seek a solution and you are bound to find that your kitchen storage design starts to sizzle!!
