Make Your Kitchen Pantry Design a Pure Pleasure !

A pantry should be at least 900mm wide and 650mm deep. This is the size generally recommended by designers.

The reason is that this size has been found to be the most user-friendly.

However, if you can't fit this size into your new kitchen, don't despair!

The best idea is to install the largest kitchen pantry design you can in the space available and then make it a 'cargo pantry' where the whole unit pulls out into the kitchen, instead of opening a door.

The advantage is that you can see right to the back of the baskets and shelves or drawers and easily access the items you want in storage.

Or, you can have drawers and shelves that slide out on a smooth gliding mechanism. This beats trying to access the back of deep shelving which is always an inconvenient task!

Be careful that the drawers or shelves you choose can withstand the weight of all that you are planning to put into them!

Because the unit will be pulled in and out very regularly, ensure that the design of the pantry, and materials used, are of good quality, or you run the risk of the pantry not sliding or gliding out in a smooth and sturdy fashion.

Choose the configuration of baskets that suits your needs, and make sure that the basket wire is of a small enough gauge that your smaller items won't fall through it

Match the size of items that you are storing to the height of the baskets, so that you can fit every size in that you want to.

If you are having slide-out drawers and shelves, see that they do slide out as far as you wish them to.
