White, Stark Beauty in This Minimalist Kitchen Layout Design
This minimalist kitchen layout design in an inner-city apartment
is separated from the living area by a sliding lightweight metallic door.
This door allows the space to be closed off, or opened up to be included in the living area beyond. It occupies a very small space and is created to cater mostly for entertaining as well as a little cooking.
Lots of natural light floods in from both the front, when opened up, and the back of this space. However, soft uplighting is incorporated to shine onto the side walls.
The beautiful uneven stone floor provides a pleasing contrast to the smooth clean lines of the cabinetry. This stone floor flows into the living space giving a feeling of seamless inclusion.
The large block above the island hides the rangehood and lights. Its rectangular shape mirrors the shape of the island below which contains the sink and cooktop. Below are handleless drawers and cupboard space.
This layout makes wonderful and dramatic use of the small space available and is made for a person wanting kitchen facilities, but unwilling to compromise on a space that is really an addition to the main living area... a high standard minimalist concept that is all about angles, shape and stark color. The look is all important here.
Could this inspire you when planning a small and very modern kitchen?
