Installing Kitchen Cabinets - Try Gorgeous Green...

installing-kitchen-cabinets

Installing kitchen cabinets?

This family home makes good use of a pale avocado to add tranquil color to the new kitchen cabinets. The countertop is black and the appliances stainless steel.

The backsplash is made of small mosaic tiles in various shades of green, providing a contrast to the units color.

The overhead units are also pale green. The floor is a neutral color and the layout is 'L' shaped with an island to the right of the picture.

Cool colors like green, gives the room a sense of space as they make the walls recede.

The cupboards and units are the major color and so the choice of the green is enough to lift the atmosphere and give more interest than just more tones of a monochromatic color scheme would.

Don't forget that artificial light will change the color of any surface in the kitchen.

It is always best to take a sample home to look at in different lights when installing kitchen cabinetry.

A showroom kitchen

features the use of a deeper green as a highlight. The only other colors are stainless steel for the appliances, the countertop and the sides of the units. Black frames the underbench oven.

This compact kitchen is neat and clean in appearance and the design is such that it is very functional.

You may feel that the white of the walls and floor are too stark and give a cold and perhaps sterile feeling. In your kitchen you could have a floor using greys with an insert of black, or green.

The walls would need to complement the installed kitchen cabinets. The only accurate way to select suitable colors is to test swatches on the walls to be painted.

The way a color reacts is dependent largely on light, which can change a color drastically, either animating bit by warming it up or by softening it with a bluish cast to cool it down.

In this kitchen with the deep green, you'd probably have a paler hue for the walls so as not to overwhelm with too many strong colors.
