Feng Shui Decorating Tips!

feng-shui-tips

Fresh flowers, fire, the oven and cook's positioning...

  • The oven is symbolic of wealth and so should be in good working order, clean and in frequent use.

The idea is to raise the chi of your stove, which will draw opportunities closer to you.

The fire energy should be kept strong. As wood feeds fire, any plant is good to have in the nearby vicinity.

Even if you use your stove or cooktop very infrequently, you can boil water on it occasionally and use a different burner each time, to activate the different areas of wealth in your life.

A round, multi-faceted crystal above the cooktop or oven will traditionally direct chi outwards in a 360 degree radius.

This will help balance financial ups and downs as the months wear on. So if you feel like you're on a financial roller coaster- this is a great feng shui tip for you!

  • Fresh flowers are great in the feng shui kitchen. They bring positive and uplifting energy, as does any living thing...goldfish, plants and even pictures of greenery.

If you can grow herbs, or other plants that can be used in your cooking, then you are maximizing opportunities and growing your ability to generate wealth.

Dried flowers, on the other hand, are dead and have a negative and unwanted energy.

    Sharp edges, microwave ovens...

  • Another feng shui tip...Sharp edges in a kitchen give yang chi, but you must have a wise balance, as too many can cause disputes and quarrels in the kitchen.

Sharp edges include corners, and knives.

Don't display knives and scissor blades in the kitchen. These cutting edges can cause conflict and disharmony.

Keep knives in a knife block and scissors in a drawer, because they give out harmful chi.

  • Don't leave water on the stove for too long...this can dampen your passion for life. Empty the kettle when you have finished using it.
  • Microwave ovens are bad chi because of their electromagnetic enegry ... avoid using one, but if you do, place it in a corner or on an overhead shelf unit so that only the face is showing.

    declutter ...

  • Keep one drawer in the kitchen for clutter...everyone needs somewhere for odds and ends. See that it can open and shut easily and is kept tidy.

Perhaps use a utensil tray so that you can see where things you need are!

  • Don't store bulky or heavy items over a work area as this will make you feel laden-down. Don't sit under pots and pans that are hung up, either.

  • auspicious colors and numbers...

  • Have 9 beautiful and very 'orange' oranges on a plate in your feng shui kitchen...9 is a very auspicious and powerful feng shui number and you can always replace the oldest orange with another, so that they are kept fresh and enticing!
  • The colors and tastes of foods can produce different blends of yin and yang chi.

Try to keep a healthy balance of vegetables (yin and yang), brightly colored foods (yang) and dairy (yin).

  • If your kitchen is under a bedroom, ensure that there is no bed directly over the stove or cooktop.

The heat will 'burn' the chi of anyone sleeping there and will attack their immune system. They'll then be prone to coughs, colds and infections.

  • Your feng shui kitchen should be a place of abundance, welcoming good food, with an illusion of wealth and luxury - bowls of fruit to be eaten and green plants growing healthily.

Abundant, good energy must flow around easily and at all times.

The kitchen has a great influence on the success and wealth of its occupants.

Make sure that is clean, nourishing, inviting and calming for the soul ... and the positive chi will be there in abundance...so the principles of feng shui say!
