Arresting European Kitchen Cabinets Give Your Kitchen a Lift!
A very clever overall design in a Cape Town appartment
The red European kitchen cabinets give a drama to the interior. The designer worked with a small kitchen space flowing through into an eating area that is bounded outside by a sunny balcony.
There is lots of natural light and the flooring, in two different colors of tile, delineates the kitchen and eating areas.
Note how the red and black coloring has been taken through all of this space.
The cylindrical rangehood copies the curve of the kitchen island that is used for cooking and washing up. There are red cabinets behind the island, too.
The stainless steel of the rangehood and the oven is found again in the stools and the suspended shelving.
White, black, steel and red go beautifully together and always give a classy feeling providing the red and black is not overdone.
With these colors, a little often goes a long way! And with the same tone of red being picked up and used on the wall through to the balcony, there isn't too much red as most of that wall contains windows, which are beautifully framed in white gloss.
The layout allows the cook to be a part of the conversation in the living area adjoining the kitchen.
This is possible because of the sink and cooktop being placed in the island and so the chef faces out into the living area, instead of having his back to it.
Such a gorgeous design and color arrangement! You can do the same with imagination and creative use of space and color.
