where the owner wanted custom kitchen cabinets of light yellow with a jacaranda blue. A wooden trim has been included and contemporary handles on the cabinetry and cupboards. Two of the wall units have glass fronts which are effective, although they do show clearly what is inside - some people prefer to hide this. A textured off-white tile on the wall between the benchtop and cupboards includes a feature tile of stainless steel which complements the fridge and other large appliances. The walls around are yet another color - white. You may feel that these colors don't work well together, and that the designer would have been better off keeping to one or other. Try not to mix in too many different colors and textures because this has a tendency to make things seem 'ad hoc' and unplanned. Blue is a peaceful as well as an energizing color, and since it reminds people of the ocean, it is a strong favorite.
