It is made of lightweight aluminium and through it shine numerous halogen downlights.

These lights are wired separately, so that they can be used in different arrangements.

The whole effect is one of a highly patterned area where it becomes hard to distinguish where one element ends and another begins.

At night, lots of little shadows and lights are cast by the ceiling and the stenciled patterns react to create a visual spectacle that seems almost activated.

A floating wooden floor provides an anchor to the kitchen and gives 'ground' to the layout.

This is a big space and you may well think that the patterning used here is almost too overwhelming - but it does show how some creative thinking and painting techniques can highlight your kitchen if you feel that all-white is rather plain!
