The chefs kitchen is either an unholy mess or it is efficient, functional and highly organized! Some great ideas for creating this kind of sophisticated, working kitchen for the serious chef.
Appliances
These should be carefully chosen, top of the range and stainless steel, because of its wonderful hygiene properties, and ease of cleaning properly.
They need to be accessible and hidden when not in use. A 'butler's pantry' is a great idea.
Materials
Flooring can be of any easy to clean, non-porous, non-slip and hard-wearing material. Laminate, linoleum, hardwood flooring , stone and tiles are still very popular in gourmet kitchens.
Seamless and without cracks for bacteria to flourish is
excellent flooring in a chefs kitchen.
Countertops can be of any material that is stain, scratch and burn resistant, sealed and durable.
Stainless steel is very practical, granite is excellent and there are several eco-friendly alternatives that would be good options, too.

Use a designer if you feel that you need to.
Don't skimp on cost if you want to set a standard and keep the kitchen of that standard.
Go to kitchen showrooms, home shows, display centers and look at magazines and brochures to see what your options are.
