Be Bold with Blue Kitchen Cabinets for a Trendy Look!

The kitchen designer has used blue kitchen cabinets to inject a note of the dramatic into this family kitchen. The blue is laminate and occurs only on the front facing panels of the cabinetry.

It was, in fact, a refacing of older wooden cabinets.

There is an appealing contrast between the light-grained wood kept as a frame around the cabinet doors and the countertop, which is of an engineered stone of the same color.

Glass fronts have been added to a few of the cabinets and drawers, again adding an extra texture and area of contrast to the overall design. Note how one drawer is of the original wood.

The splashback is made of plain white ceramic tiles which act as a bland backdrop for the blue of the cabinets.

With a sandstone tiled floor of the same color as the wood, the kitchen is pulled together successfully.

The home is very close to the ocean and the colors and designs of the other rooms in the house have a very seaside feeling to them.

There is use of beautiful canvases in blues and whites, intricate ratan and cane furniture and lots of textiles in stripes and thick cottons.
